Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of illmus (the "Service"), a free music player operated as part of the illusd.com family of tools. By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The Service

illmus is a personal music player that allows you to upload audio files you own or have the right to use, automatically match them against the public Genius database to fetch title, artist, cover art and lyrics, and play them back in your browser. illmus is provided free of charge.

2. Your Account

You must create an account to use illmus. You may sign up with email and password, Google, or Apple. Regardless of sign-in method, illmus requires you to set a password so you always have a fallback way in. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity on your account.

3. Your Content

You retain full ownership of the audio files you upload. You grant illmus a limited license to store, process, and stream those files back to you solely for the purpose of operating the Service on your behalf. You must not upload content you do not have the legal right to store or play, and you must not use illmus to distribute copyrighted material to third parties.

4. Third-Party Data

Lyrics, cover art, and metadata are provided by Genius (genius.com). illmus makes no warranty as to the accuracy of that data. You may not use lyrics retrieved through illmus for commercial redistribution.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to store or distribute illegal, harmful, or infringing content;
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data;
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service or its APIs;
• Use the Service to build a competing product without permission.

6. Availability & Modifications

The Service is provided "as is" and may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time. We do our best to keep illmus running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. On termination, your uploaded audio files are removed from our storage.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, illmus and illusd.com are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to stop using the Service.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to illusd.com. Disputes shall be resolved by the courts having jurisdiction over illusd.com's registered address.
